Hi everyone! I'm back from Cambodia and dealing with my first case of jet lag. Isn't that sweet? I'll be back with a new story next week, but I came across this yesterday, and I wanted to share it. Prep yourselves for the waterworks.
"The stigma around depression in our society is very real, and if you think it isn't, ask yourself this: would you rather make your next Facebook status say you're having a tough time getting out of bed because your hurt your back, or you're having a tough time getting out of bed every morning because you're depressed? That's the stigma. Because unfortunately we live in a world where, if you break your arm, everyone runs over to sign your cast, but if you tell people you're depressed, everyone runs the other way."
Remember, if you’re feeling suicidal, please talk to somebody. You can reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
